This years Bourbon & Bowties is in the history books. By all accounts it was a huge success with a record 1200 attendees. I've uploaded some of my favorite photos from the evening and included a few others I liked by others from Facebook.
While the party was fantastic, it is important to never lose sight of our purpose which is to raise money ultimately for Kosair Childrens Hospital. Every year we have an honooree who was cared for by Kosair Children's Hospital.
The sixth annual Bourbon & Bowties honored twins Clara and Wilson McGarvey who were born at just 26 weeks. Clara weighed only 1 pound, 8 ounces, and Wilson weighed 1 pound, 15 ounces. After their birth, they spent a cumulative total of 178 days in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Kosair Children's Hospital. It was there that Clara and Wilson received the expert care they needed to grow strong and healthy. Today, the twins are active and healthy 3-year-olds who recently began preschool. While Wilson loves music and playing instruments, Clara loves playing with princesses and dressing up.
Clara and Wilson's parents, Morgan and Chris McGarvey, are grateful for the care their twins received at Kosair Children's Hospital. As the honoree family they will be able to designate were a portion of the funds raised this year go to at Kosair Childrten's Hospital.
Thank you everyone for your generous support.
