Perfection is defined as the highest degree of excellence. Louisville's newest fine dining experience which opens to the public Thursday, The Place Downstairs redefines perfection. They take it to the next level with both Chef Co-Owner Fernando Martinez and Chef Ethan Ray in the kitchen preparing incredibly creative culinary delights along with Co-Owner Cristina Martinez and General Manager Ricky Moir working the front of the house making sure guest are treated like family in a warm inviting atmosphere with every detail covered. It's first class all the way with the service staff too reminding us of service we've received in some of top restaurants in the world. It felt like a restaurant that had been open for years. Certainly not a trail run. Team Martinez have apparently hired some of the best in the industry and it shows.
Eight of us attended the soft opening Tuesday night and explored the menu from A to Z. Every dish was an explosion of flavor with a wine and beverage menu worthy of the challenge. Eight of us will be back very soon, because if there's one thing we know about Chef Fernando Martinez...He continue's to innovate and is never satisfied with just mere perfection.
